REFILE-Regeneron’s Eylea improves vision in another eye disorder
First created over 150 years ago, eye exercises are widely used around the world today for natural vision improvement. Also commonly referred to as vision training, eye exercises performed consistently over a period of time can cure: Myopia Nearsightedness Astigmatism An irregularly shaped cornea The Causes of Poor Vision You may also like Age-Related Eye Changes and Disease: Presbyopia and Glaucoma The main cause of poor vision is muscle tension in and around the eye. This eye strain affects the ability to focus and relax completely, and over time the eyeball changes shape to compensate. The irregular shape of the eyeball causes light to focus too far in front of the retina (in nearsightedness) or too far behind (in farsightedness). The cornea can also become squashed (astigmatism) which is a common effect of being near sighted. How Eye Exercises Work Eye exercises work by first strengthening the six groups of eye muscles, and then helping them to relax completely each day to improve vision on a progressive basis.

Eye health and vision screening guidelines for adults and children: when should eyes be examined?
Eylea is already approved in the United States to treat wet age-related macular degeneration and for macular edema following central retinal vein occlusion. Both conditions cause vision loss. Regeneron on Monday said 53 percent of the patients who received Eylea gained at least 15 letters in vision, a measure of sharpness of vision, compared to 27 percent for those who received the standard therapy of laser treatment. The trial tested 183 patients with macular edema following branch retinal vein occlusion, a common disease in the elderly. The company said 9.9 percent of patients in the Eylea group experienced serious adverse events, compared to 9.8 percent in the laser group.

Once you feel comfortable with your vision, you will be given a final prescription. Contacts are not the only option for those with presbyopia. Eyeglasses, including those with single-vision reading-only lenses and bifocal lenses, should be considered as well as a few new surgeries aimed at improving near vision. As you continue to age, presbyopia becomes more advanced, which dictates more frequent changes in eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions. Around age 60, the changes in near vision should stop and prescription changes should occur less frequently.

Eye Health: Vision changes after age 40 can’t be prevented or cured but can be managed
Glaucoma glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness. The patients generally have no symptoms, until the disease is advanced and difficult to treat. Glaucoma is diagnosed by an eye doctor who measures pressure in the eye, examines the optic nerve in the back of the eye, and performs visual field tests. If diagnosed early, the disease can be controlled and progression slowed down. Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) ARMD is a common cause of blindness in adults. It can impair vision.
